The pain has been likened to being flicked by a rubber band. Anaesthetic cream can be used on the treatment area prior to laser tattoo removal. Treatments are short in duration also.

For complete removal, most multi-coloured tattoos require at least 10 treatments or a year worth of treatments (this may be more of less than 10 die to skin type), and the interval between treatments is generally 4, 6 or 8 weeks. Some small only black ink tattoos can be removed in just 3 or 4 treatments.
The size of your tattoo and who created it will determine the number of treatments required. Professional tattoos often require you to revisit a lot more times (depending on size and colour) than amateur tattoos, these can be as little as 1 to 4 times. -
